Ya Allah.. Indahnya ciptaanMu Ya Khaliq, Ya Musawwir.

Selama 5 hari kami menikmati keindahan ciptaan Allah.  Udaranya amat segar dan persekitaran terpelihara,  Kami juga terpegun mendengar kisah wanita Haenyeo, penyelam wanita jeju yang luarbiasa menyelam tanpa tong oksigen!

Statue Haenyeo Woman
Day 1 (Barat Pulau Jeju)
Lokasi pertama ini pantainya putih bersih. Laut hijau kebiruan. Speechless. Perfect place to release stress.
Hyupjae Beach
Syangyong Cave

  Lokasi seterusnya - Hallim Park.

Dingin

Keindahan Istanbul

Ziarah Turki   (17 - 19hb Februari 2018)

Subhanallah.Allahuakbar. Syukur di atas segala limpah kurnianmu.
Terpegun.
Bumi Turki amat istimewa.

Nama sebenar Ali Ekinci. Nama glamer Ali Baba.

Maka saya pun mula selamat hari raya.

Kami tak sempat jadi kawan baik.  Sebab cara mak memang special. Kalau tak bangun solat subuh,
kami bertiga adik beradik merasa air masuk dalam telinga.
Sebab mak siram, satu baldi penuh.
Padan muka.

Maka berderailah air mata saya. Tanpa mak sedari.

Kalau hidup saya tersekat, cepat-cepat saya cari mak
Kerana doa mak memang special - semua dah tahu - Direct COD

Sayang Mak❤

GRIT - What is IT anyway?

Dear Teh,
Ibu somehow found Professor Dr Angela Duckworth when I was searching for answers on what makes a person gritty. My search under the word 'gritty'  led me to her speech in Tedtalks. She explained the concept in the most captivating manner supported by highly reputable research. This famous psychologist gave me clear answers as to how we can be gritty.
Eventually,  I bought her book 'Grit - The Power of Passion & Perseverance' and have been reading it since

If you ever read this entry Teh Aisyah, I want you to go through this book yourself which is now full of highlighted notes and remarks (especially for both of us). It's white in colour and it's one of my favourite collection.

What drove me was your series of questions asking me why your friends in school are performing  significantly well  while you had to struggle most of the time. Again and again I told you that GRIT is what you need instead of natural talent. You seemed to believe that these friends of yours are somehow gifted and that talent is superior compared to effort.

I want to share some of Dr Angela's work here so that it will lead you to understand how grit, the power of passion and perseverance is in fact more powerful than  natural talent. What crops up again and again was the notion of commitment, consistency of effort and the willingness to stay loyal in whatever we do.
We need to learn to be gritty Teh. Only then we will be able to follow the footsteps of the grittiest person ever alive - our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

I'll continue this later.miss you so much. Cant wait for the school holiday!

Trip Kenyir diatas Pesona Boathouse - kenangan yg sukar utk dilupakan

Mengapa? Kerana kami memasak, memancing, berkaraoke, berkayak, mengail, berenang dan bermain ikan kelah bersama-sama! How awesome is that! Semua dalam 2 hari satu malam. Gambar-gambar ini telah berjaya merakam keseronokan kami.Syukur Ya Allah! Kau Maha Pengasih lagi Maha Penyayang. Kau selamatkan perjalanan kami pergi dan balik. Alhamdulillah.

Dreams Do Come True

Kisah Kembara Teh Aisyah Rusli kali pertama menjejakkan kaki
di Sydney Australia 7-14 Disember 2016

Jom Jalan!

Masalahnya, ibu bukan bijak manapun.

Segalanya bermula selepas keputusan UPSR Teh.

2014 memang tahun kontroversi.  Beberapa kertas bocor.
Semua orang terkejut. Cikgu-cikgu terkejut. Ibu lagilah terkejut. Yang tak terkejut mungkin Abah. Sebab dia betul-betul berdoa untuk Teh. Menangis dia berdoa memohon agar Teh dipermudahkan urusan menjawab peperiksaan.

Teh memang 'underdog'  berbanding pelajar lain.

Janji mesti dikota.
Tapi macam mana ya nak rancang duit dengan BIJAK?
Bulan berikutnya bermulalah projek menguruskan duit huhu. Ibu FIKIR. KAlau nak tunggu lebihan alamatnya memang tak simpan.

Jadi IBU tukar cara BERFIKIR. Macam-macam mana pun, setiap bulan mesti simpan RM150 untuk Teh. Tak banyak tapi sikit-sikit jadi bukit. Setahun berlalu.
Handphone pulak dah mula 'hang' memanjang. Loading berzaman. Samsung S3 ibu dah jatuh dua kali dan kena hantar repair. Duit tu melambai-lambai mintak beli Samsung Galaxy S6. Sabar Yati. Ini bukan duit kamu. Ini duit, TEH AISYAH yang punya.

2016 pun tiba. Teh pun dah masuk Form 2. Tak nangis dah bila balik MRSM. Bila hantar Teh, ibu selalu terfikir. Bila ya boleh pergi ya Allah? Satu hari dalam bulan Mac, ibu buka laman web AirAsia. AHA! Ada tiket tambang murah. Waktu tu duit ada dalam RM2100.  Return dalam RM2400,tak termasuk luggage, mkn and entertainment. Kawan ibu kata, taklah murah sangat haha. Kan ibu dah kata, ibu bukan bijak mana pun. Bestnya!

Syukur Alhamdulillah..dreams do come true!

Oh Osaka!

Benarkah aku benar-benar bersyukur?

I have always loved travelling.  But I discovered something different this time around. I realize that perhaps I don't fancy travelling in a group.  Is that good or bad? I have yet to discover my true self. This time it was Osaka. We arrived at Kansai International Airport on Sunday morning,18th October. The temperature was 23 degrees and soon after we were 'rushed' to TODAI-JI temple.  Imagine seeing some of the qualifiers brushing their teeth at the airport as we had to go straight to our first tourist destination. Quietly, I pacify myself,

"Be grateful, be grateful Yati. Syukur!"

Before we went down the bus, the tour guide reminded us AGAIN to keep track of time. AHA! This was ONE of the things that bothers me in all my group trips. Time limit. Gosh. I quickly brushed away my negative thoughts. It's never easy to impress a seasoned traveler.

Luckily, my heart guided me well. As soon as we came down the bus, I couldn't believe my eyes! There were reindeer everywhere. How wonderful! They were roaming around the temple park, blending with the crowd. Here we were, flocking into their kingdom and they seemed NOT to be bothered with the invasion! How kind.  I've never been among so many reindeer!. This place is surely full of life.  We had to hurry our steps and as I looked around, there it was...

The magnificent Todai-Ji Temple. Built in the Nara period (710-794 AD) during the rein of Emporer Shomu, the temple is a place of prayer and also a center of Buddhist doctrinal research. According to literature, Todaiji has produced famous scholar priests. The width of the current building is approximately 33% smaller that that of the original structure but it still ranks as the largest wooden structure in the world! Wow!

Todaiji Temple
The weather was clear and sunny and so all our photos turned out awesome. Later, I  was told that the second wave of qualifiers who arrived in November had to take photos in the rain with their rain coats on.
                                                             Belajarlah bersyukur Yati!

Love it!

Looking at the fine weather and fresh air, I was hoping to practice my Nafas Damai (a deep breathing technique propagated by my teacher Auk Murat) by the lake when suddenly I caught a glimpse of my tour guide with her poster raised high above her head! -  reminding me to urgently go to the bus.  Well, nothing in life is perfect. Given a choice I would stay for at least another hour exploring the park and it's beauty. That's just me.  I love parks.

Stay positive dear.  We are having lunch in a while so hang on.

An hour later, we arrived at a fancy Japanese restaurant.  We were told that they served the best sought after cuisine. Frankly, I don't know what they are but I heard they mentioned something like Kimchi, Sashimi and Tempura. I am terrible with food. Meaning, if I can't acquire the taste, I can't push myself to swallow them. That's bad. I stayed one hour staring at the food while my two friends Shahid & Din, enjoyed themselves. Too bad yati. Served you right for being picky :(

After lunch I was told that we would be heading to Osaka Castle. It's a must tourist attraction and according to the tour guide, during the cherry blossom season, people would flock this place and we would have to walk miles away to reach the bus parking area. The castle grounds cover approximately 15 acres.

The main tower which is the Osaka tower itself was built overlooking a moat. It is five stories on the outside and eight stories on the inside. To reach the castle, we had to past through the a lawn covered park which was thronged with cherry trees .  Many would prefer to go during the cherry blossom season. By this time, I wasn't complaining at all.  It was just breathtaking. I think I finally fall in love with Japan! At 6 p.m. we finally reached our hotel. My feet hurt and my body ached. I followed my tour guide advice - Don't forget to soak your body in the hot bathtub!

Well, there's nothing more to share other than the shopping at Rinku Premium Outlets which didn't really thrill me (sorry people). But I have one last picture which I thought had value in it.  So I should share with all of you. I call it an act of love.

I thought what this qualifier from Johor did was so sweet. This guy brought along his parents to Osaka. I have to say, they were really sporting and they walked as much as we did! Shame on me!
It's so awesome to work hard and having to spend time with your loved ones. Take them for trips.  Well, this guy did. The question is. When was the last time we did something similar?

Let's give it a thought.
Have a blast life everyone!

Know Our Roots

The next day, we found out who they were. The couple were Indonesians lecturers who were carrying research in one of the local universities in that state. They were so down to earth and full of joy to meet us there. Well, this is Spain. Not England. Here, people hardly speak English except in big cities like Barcelona. This wonderful couple were able to speak the local French or Catalonia language.
I on the other hand, was only able to understand a few words of French like Ola!(Hell0!), Si (Yes), Gracias (Thank you) and Satirda (Exit) hehe.

This experience draw my attention. When I travel, I tend to think more and learn from my observations. It dawn on me that the knowledge that this couple has acquired hasn't changed them into arrogant and 'Know-it-all'' attitude. It reminds me of a pinch of arrogance that I might have felt in instances when I was caught off guard. Gosh..got to be humble and stay grounded regardless of our level of education yo! Just like the Malay phrase "Ikutlah resam padi, semakin berisi, semakin menunduk,"

Do we tend to be friendlier when we are outside our own country? Hem..well I don't know.
What about when we are IN Malaysia?  Notice the attitude of arrogance and flashing each other's credentials in our society? Sometimes we forget the true quest for knowledge. Acquiring new knowledge should make us realize the very little knowledge we have so far. There is always so much more to learn and as a matter of fact, we are no where close to the knowledge of our Creator.
And so my students, let's be humble individuals regardless of the qualifications that you might have. Our exams results and achievements are just evidences to our learning process. Period.

I am,however, proud of your quest for knowledge. I pray for your success in your coming exam.

Gracias.

Thank you my friend: I shall begin with Ya Affuw

To my dear sister and friend Marzita, thank you for introducing the deeper meaning of Asma Ul Husna 99 Names of Allah.

When you followed Prof Wan Maseri Wan Mohd to Kedah,  you shared an invaluable experience accompanying her.  I can see that your spirit is now soaring high and that your belief in God the Almighty is greater than ever.

Apabila aku melihat kau mula berhati-hati berbicara sambil mengupas nama2 Allah tu dik, air mataku mengenang ...hatiku  berdebar-debar ....jiwaku amat tersentuh.   Terima kasih kerana pencerahanmu dik.

Thank you for guiding me sister. You told me that I should start with Ya Affuw as this name represents him as The Forgiver.  Seek forgiveness and he shall forgive.

Mencintaimu kerana Allah dik. Syukur yang amat. Terima  kasih.

Dedicated to Marzita Abdul Mazak, Unit Manager 2, Million Dollar Agency, Future President Club, Kuantan, Pahang.
