What is 'LOVE'?

Dear students,
I was about to go to bed when I remembered my promise to post this issue tonight. Last night, after an 'act of betrayal' of not getting ready the outline (you know what), I decided to teach and later we stumbled upon this, in the many "types of introduction". This is type number 1 - asking one or more question. There are six types altogether and you can use any of them in your introduction. Well, let us see this example:

What is love? How do we know that we are really in love? When we meet that special person, how can we tell that our feelings are genuine and not merely infatuation? And, if they are genuine, will these feelings last? Love, as we all know, is difficult to define. But most people agree that true and lasting love involves far more than mere physical attraction. It involves mutual respect, the desire to give rather than take, and the feeling of being wholly at ease.

Well....what do you think? Agree? As someone who has gone through youth, I would like to know how you would view this question. Will your views later shape your thoughts and actions? Because love, can be both powerful and damaging. So strong that you might lose control and yet so pure, it will never be replaceable. Are you a 'realist 'or 'romantic' ? These two different schools of thought can never co-exist hand in hand but whatever it is, its your own choices and I honestly hope you will give a careful thought when the time comes. Why? Because I truly love all of you.
So, section 11! For all the laughter we had last night, I now invite you to share your views on this matter. Are you ready? 1, 2,...Go!

salam....
sorry for barging in.....
huhuhu.....

i'm not an expert about love because i've never been in love....
so i woould like to share my opinion based on some 'interview' that i have done...
some said that, true love can be felt... How???
when the person is nearby or next to you.. your heart will move faster. i.e you'll have an increase in CARDIAC RATE... hahaha..
but the most important sign is that the feeling of respect to the person in yourself.....
some said it is complicated...
it means that you'll know at the right time with the right individual.... How's that???
i'm not really sure....
huhuhuhu.........

but..
for me...
i believe love is more than feeling... Feeling of respect and wishing for the person's happiness and please... as well as actions to materialize your feeling...
so, my point is that don't say love to somebody if you don't have the power to realize it....

that's all with the lecture..
thank you and have a nice day....

E xquisitely?

for me, 'love' is a thing that we always sought after but often failed to realise it is close to us.

we seek love from God but neglect or take for granted of what He has bestowed us.

we seek love from our parent but sometimes forget to place them above our friends.

we seek love from someone but often hurt others.

for me, if u love someone, they are of the highest priority. to love someone is to carry the trust that u will not hurt them. to love someone is to make them happy rather than ourselves.

i found love but the other found the better one. for me, as long as they are happy, i'm happy.
when something is taken away from us, something better often replace it. maybe is not meant for us or maybe God planned something better for us. who knows?

Objectively, love is an universal communication, either vertically to Almighty God, or horizontally to humankind, including family, friend, or any people regardless what their identity are. Horizontally also means to the nature (means not only physical nature, but also social interaction n phenomena of human civilization, at least in my opinion). Love is what drives this world into good or bad. I think deep at the botton of our heart (if it still have at least a bit purity), we know wat love is, since it has come naturally with us (u can feel it when u see the baby, hear them laughing, see them smiling, even when u see they walking, running, n crying). It means to give your best in what u love, to the people u love, to the society u love, of course also most importantly to Almight God.To share it, so that at the end u will feel this kind of satisfaction and comfort. So if we follow, this realm, means there should be no crime, no bad, no disorder in the world which seems not the nature of the world itself. it is true, we are created in balance, mix of good n bad, right and wrong, so what... the thing is what it means by LOVE right now mostly has been corrupted, so that we cant stand in balance.
Love means sharing -->>take & give -->>contribute (again I quote what madam said). it means presenting the best. It also with means to have courage to take the risk n challenge during the way. Lastly, maybe it means submission to what u love, to people u love, to Him.

Personally, I want to put it as what I am dong to my family, to the poeple I love and I know also love me AS I AM. At least that what I am thinking now.

About love to someone special, I think I dont want to really think about it or him for now. I believe God has someone for me, so what I can do is just be the good person so that I hope to get the good one as well. Frankly, my father always tell me, no need to think about it now, just focus to ur study, at the end he will come by himself ( it reminds me to this song in Snow White... "Someday....my prince will come" ...hahaha). My father reason is God has fated mu'min with mu'min, muslim with muslim, and so on. I know it might hear like an oldfols, but I believe in it. Sometime still I feel lonely, but in that case, it is just another way toward it.

I googled through the internet to find some quotes about love. Here we go:-

“If I never met you, I wouldn't like you. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do, and I will.”

I believe it can be applied to Our Creator, to Rasulullah, to our beloved family and friends.

As for me, love happens when you expressed your feelings through actions. To admit that you love someone through words can be very difficult. Not many of us have courage to do that. Well, action speaks louder than words, right?

as the person who has been in love for several years, i must admit that love are full of trust, respect, sacrifice, commitment, patient, responsibility, tears and joy.
It may distract our focus in study but one can't just stuck with the books and academic stuff all the time.(hahahha)being a student, we can't deny that there is something that drive us to love and be loved by someone. i must say nowadays if u are 20 smthing (like us) and u are still single (or not interested in someone at all), it's either there's something wrong with u or u have some kind of untypical principles about feeling.. (another hahahaha)..
love should teach u how to be responsible
love should teach u how to be organized (study and feeling mix up.)
love should teach u how to appreciate others and be appreciated
and many more
but wait,
love also teach u about pain, heartbreak, and bla2....
so, beware.. u might suffer instead of 'live happily ever after'
it's all i can say (for the time being) about love.

it is very nice to have a lecturer who encourage his or her students to express their voices within. thanks madam..:-) keep,it up..

what is love? im never start to thinking about thing seriously, up till, when my parenting letcure start to asking me, when you will get married? for me, love is a high levels of feeling. people may define this in varies. love include romance, feeling, emotion, intimacy, passion, responsible. its a God's nature. the feeling to love others and being love by others. the purpose of why we have the feelings is a main concern on the journey of the feelings. for example, if its a romantic love, then the feelings is a deep, intense and unending. this love cost us to shared a very inttimate and interpersonal and sexual relationship. thus, love may give a benefits and may also give harms. what is important is to knows the limit on loving this God creatures.guide ourselves, learn the goods and bad of doing so, then it will direct us to the better life.
i didnt have any experience on loving the other gender (im hoping to feel it sooon ), but, for me.. LoVe is freindship. Friendship is love. people may said that this kind of relationship is not sufficient for people to express their love. but for me, loving a friends is a way for me, to knows how to deal with the other persons that have different thoughts, ideas, emotion and perception. friends is someone who been there when we need them, listening to all our jokes, problems, a shoulder where we can ly on.
therefore, as a conclusion, (0_0), before been in this kind of emotion, we need to prepare ourselves on how crucial the comitmment part is need..

Morning mdm...first, let me quote a phrase that I found from my novel
"Holding him in my arms as he passed away is something I have wept over every day since"
-John Grisham, Bleachers p. 146
This phrase is about the love of a coach towards his football player who died from his harsh training.

For me, love is something big. Love towards our Creator, Prophets, parents, teachers, siblings, friends, and others. For me, when we love someone, we tend to make them happy, to take really good care of them, pay attention to their needs. It does not matter what price we pay as long as our loved ones keep smiling. But don't misunderstand love and lust, because lust is something we have to control. Without guidance from religion, we will lost in our own thoughts and lust.

Love is too subjective to be defined because it something that we cannot explained by mean of physical thing.Caring is something can be done by others but love is something that can be felt by some of us i mean specific type of people that we give our love to .Yes,love is creation and creation will never be last for some long time.If we deeply in love with somebody today,we will finally be regreted for the foolish of deeply loving them soon.It hard to find lover who not bored in loving you.yet that feeling will somehow faded after a long time along with the nature of human which also changes by times.Yup,in the case of marriage, love can be so important at the early stages but soon as the marriage developed, love is no more but defined as a responsible that forcely had to be taken for the marriage.Though spouse can express love but it not as love to love but only to love to be responsible.no longer pure love but a synthetic love...

for me..falling in love wif someone is seeing an imperfect person perfectly...accept them as they are,,,no matter what happen...love never die if the honesty and loyalty keep stand together...love got such a broad definition..we can't describe about it too much until we realize we're in love..BUT..the most important of luv are love to ALLAH, Prophet P.B.U.H,and family...we as a human can't choose for it...it comes naturally...-Aima Suhaily, Section 11-

for this question, i think, LOVE is very precious. the harder u try to get it, the more u appreciate it, once u gain it.
Love towards Allah, u need to do all the amar makruf n nahi mungkar. n when u did ur best, u feel grateful for what u have achieve.
love towards family & people u love, u'll try to make them happy because u love to see them happy.

but to achieve those, they might require hardships. so, once u gain it, u'll surely appreciate it very much..:)

Sorry for the late response, and thank u mdm for giving us a space to voice our thought...

Love? It was well defined by the others clearly.

The ultimate love is definitely towards Allah, His Messenger, our parents, teachers, siblings, and people around us. Unfortunately, we are too focus on love between men n women, and neglecting the words of Allah.

We have more sense of belonging to human than sense of belonging to God. We are remembering bf or gf all the times instead of dzikrullah. Love is not blind, but many people have been blinded by love.

There are no single verses in Al-Quran that permit 'couple' before marriage, and Allah never ever told us to go for dating, etc. If u love someone, then do it the right way. Istikharah, and go for the next steps which are engagement followed by marriage.

Sorry for being so straightforward but i just cant stand with such fact that men and women should dating hundred times, being together almost 24 hours, before get married. Please, fear Allah and the hellfire.

Lastly, love is fitrah. Nothing is wrong about it. It is just about how u handle it according to syara'. I do love people around me so much, especially my parent and friends.

I suggest a good book written by Fatimah Syarha. "Pemilik cintaku setelah Allah dan Rasul". Read it, and we'll totally understand why Allah doesn't permit couple before marriage.

Sorry for the broken language~
Akhirul kalam.

for me love is something unexpectable...we can be drowned by it...and also be motivated...contented...depend on person who undergoes it....
when we love somebody we are always thinking about him night and day..hoping the same feeling from him,and of course want it to be ended with marriage bond..many people oppose the relationship of love before marriage..not suitable, violating the syariat and etc but when the love come to your heart...you just can't let it go..and you will feel what other people who are earlier in love be...how their situation..for me all the lover must protect their love from any act that can lowered their chastity...and love need trust, respect, understanding and commitment from both parties.

I define love as mysterious, magical, complex, difficult, imaginary, thought-provoking,
inspirational, intuitional, joyous, immeasurable, and undefinable. Perhaps.

My favorite quote about love is by Paramahansa Yogananda: "To
describe love is very difficult, for the same reason
that words cannot fully describe the flavor of an

flavor. So with love."

I think one should know what are his/her priorities.
So as a Muslim, the priority goes to our sole creator first,Allah SWT then only other things will follow :)

But,I have seen this around, girls aren't tired to seek for guys' love though they have been hurt before.I was like c'mmon.Find something else to do.
Seriously,I cant tolerate those who actually ditched her friends after she found someone she loved,
or she can actually spent gazilion hours calling his bf,but she's very stingy to spend a ringgit to call her parents.Oh duh,it rages me out.

In a sitch like this
you gotta think and I don't think you
think about the way he thinks
And I know you live life
For yourself
But it all comes down to
the way you help

And I know your life is such a hell
you wake up early and you work until
you have your drinks at 5 o'clock
The hours blend and your thoughts all haunt
your hopes, your dreams, your everything
Well, mama, I hope, I dream
that you won't leave

And I have a question:
What is love?
What is love?
Oh, oh oh oh-oh-oh
Is it giving up?
'Cause that's not how you
raised me, yeah.

In a sitch like this you gotta think
and I don't think you think
about the way she thinks
and I know you work hard everyday
but it all comes down
to the way you're paid

And I know you're oh so sorry dad
I truly believe that you're a better man
than to share one kiss and then give away
from the love you come home everyday
your hopes, your dreams, your everything
Well daddy, I hope, I dream
that she won't leave

And I have a question:
What is love?
What is love?
Oh, oh oh oh-oh-oh
Is it giving up?
'Cause that's not how you
raised me

And what is love?
What is love?
Oh, oh oh oh-oh-oh
See, I don't know anymore
I used to look up to
that love

If u ask me what is love, my short answer would be: it's too complicated ;p

the long answer? here it is:
we are surrounded by love whether it comes from our family, friends or our loved ones. for me, it's hard to define love. But, i believe in this saying:
"A life with love will have some thorns, but a live without love will have no roses." It's really true, isn't it? love is what makes our life more interesting whether we realize it or not =)

These are some of the quotes about love that i think are worth sharing:
"Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile."

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."

"Love is something eternal; the aspect may change, but not the essence."

"love is irrational. The more you love someone, the less sense anything made."

Last but not least:
“To love someone is nothing, to be loved by someone is something, to be loved by the one you love is exciting, yet to be loved by Allah is everything" <3

"Temporary defines human's love,
Everlasting defines Allah's love."

So, moral of the story: seek love from Allah. He will never let u down =) Fin~

again i want to share something about love...

this is what i've read from Br Pahrol Mohd Juoi Blog.

He quoted - Love is not GOD!

A married man met him to seek for advise. The problem is he met again with his ex lover but according to him they broke up years ago and each of them married someone else.
after ten years, they met and fell in love all over again. however, the man claimed he already have 2 children while his ex with one.
"What's the matter?" asked Br Pahrol.
He replied that the ex still love him.

Br Pahrol gave a short answer - Love is not GOD!
Br. Pahrol insisted that not all love desires should be fulfilled. When love crosses the line of rationality, human values, and especially 'syariat', it must be stopped. What would happened to the children and their spouse if the "irrational love" is embraced? Leaving the wife and children for some love that is not definite. Is it worth it?
